DENVER – John Elway has done it, so it only seems fitting that current Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning would follow in the footsteps of his illustrious boss and take part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
Manning was challenged by Steve Gleeson (who did it completely naked), the U.S. fencing and archery teams and numerous Broncos fans.
While John Elway opted for a Broncos t-shirt in his video, Peyton Manning wore a full jersey.
Manning challenged former Colts center Jeff Saturday, former Colts executive Bill Polian and his old coach, Tom Moore.
Broncos coach John Fox also took the challenge after a request from Tom Coughlin, the head coach of the Giants. He, like Elway, opted to wear a white shirt. Fox went on to challenge the coaches of the Raiders, Chargers and Bengals.
The Ice Bucket Challenge is a viral movement where people pour buckets of ice water over their heads, and challenge others to do the same or make a donation to fight ALS – or Lou Gehrig's disease -- within 24 hours.
Here's how the ALS Association describes the challenge:
The challenge involves people getting doused with buckets of ice water on video, posting that video to social media, then nominating others to do the same, all in an effort to raise ALS awareness. Those who refuse to take the challenge are asked to make a donation to the ALS charity of their choice.
