VAIL – Vail police are looking for the person or persons who stole two sable fur coats this weekend. The furs have a combined value of more than $100,000. They were stolen from two separate stores on two separate occasions.

A knee length Russian golden sable fur was stolen from Dennis Basso, a fur retailer in Vail Village. The manager told 9NEWS it happened on Saturday around 5:30 p.m.

Sue Adams, the owner of Fantasia Furs in Vail said a man walked into the store at around 4:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon and stole a natural brown Russian sable coat. Adams said it retailed for $50,000. She said it's been around five years since a fur was stolen from the store. That person was never caught.

Vail police released on photo of a suspect caught on surveillance at Fantasia Furs. Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call the Vail Police Department at 970-479-2201.
