DENVER - The Denver Zoo along with Children's Colorado unveiled their new mascot Sunday. The mascot, Elbert, is a 6-foot- tall brown bear.

In a release from the zoo, Elbert was named after the highest mountain in Colorado. He has a heart-shaped patch of fur on his chest.

The new mascot will help promote healthy eating and an active lifestyle for kids the zoo says.

Elbert's hobbies include dancing, hiking and skiing.

Elbert will visit Children's Hospital monthly.
