A man is in jail tonight, accused in a hit-and-run that took the life of a young man in Wheat Ridge.


DENVER (AP) - A man suspected in a fatal hit-and-run crash in the Denver suburb of Wheat Ridge has been arrested.

Alton Kirkland, 23, was arrested Friday night on charges of felony menacing and vehicular homicide. He is being held at the Jefferson County jail.

Kirkland is accused of causing a three-car collision earlier in the night and fleeing the scene, leaving an injured woman and two children in his own car and a man dead in another car.
