AURORA - An officer has minor injuries after a suspect bit him during an arrest attempt.
According to Aurora Police, the suspect -- identified as 21-year-old Adam Lacer -- allegedly robbed a man sleeping in a car in the 14000 of East Exposition Avenue at a Walmart at 4:55 a.m. The victim claimed the suspect assaulted him and stole his car keys.
Around 6:35 a.m., officers responded to a burglary call in the 41300 block of East Kentucky Place. The homeowner told officers he woke up and saw he was missing several items from inside of his residence, including his car keys. His minivan was also missing.
Around 8:15 a.m., the suspect was spotted near East Saratoga Place and South Jebel Street standing near the stolen van.
Officers tried to arrest him, but he fled on foot after after biting an officer. Police tried to shoot the suspect with a stun gun, but it was ineffective.
Officers continued to chase the suspect into a residential area and was jumping fences to get away from the police. He was arrested near East Chenango Avenue and South Jebel Street at 8:55 a.m.
The suspect's name is not being released at this time, but he's described as being in his early 20s.
