ROCKY FORD - Heavy rain Saturday night flooded the Grand Theater of Rocky Ford according to our sister station KOAA in Colorado Springs.
"It was all underwater, looked like a river coming through here," John Miller, a projectionist at the Grand Theater told KOAA.
About 100 people were inside the theater when the water came rushing in.
"The water just kept getting closer and closer to the door, so there wasn't a whole lot we could do," Mike Shima, Assistant Manager of the Grand Theater said.
As patrons left the theater, some were greeted with water almost up to their knees. The high water made it to the theater doors, but only a little bit actually got inside the theater.
"It kept getting closer and closer and we got brooms out and tried to sweep it so it wouldn't come in but it got in a little bit," Shima told KOAA.
The Grand Theater of Rocky Ford welcomed a full crowd to the theater Sunday night.
